Safety Concerns and Previous Incidents

This incident raises significant concerns regarding the safety standards at facilities backed by Chinese investments. In January, a protest over safety conditions and pay at the same industrial park resulted in two unfortunate fatalities. The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower is scheduled to conduct an investigation into the recent accident and evaluate the company's operations. Worries about safety continue to exist, considering a previous fire incident that occurred at the same plant in June.
